Nielsen ALPHA frame, available in matt black anodised aluminium or
genuine wood veneer.
We offer Nielsen ALPHA frames in
a wide range of sizes, including square formats as well as
smaller sizes such as 18x24 cm and 24x30 cm.
To enhance your print, several finishes are available:
full-bleed right to the edge of the frame,
with a thick mat made from special acid-free cardboard,
or with white borders.

Composition
The Nielsen ALPHA frame consists of a high-quality aluminium frame, featuring an elegant profile with a visible width of 8 mm, a depth of 26 mm and 2 mm thick polished mineral glass.
Its design combines slimness, robustness and a high-quality finish to showcase your prints beautifully for years to come.
Colours
The Nielsen ALPHA frame is available in a matt black anodised aluminium finish, offering a sleek and contemporary look, as well as in real wood veneers : Oak and Wenge , combining the warmth of wood with the rigidity of aluminium.
Nielsen ALPHA frames are entirely manufactured in Germany.

With its deep, contemporary design, the Nielsen ALPHA frame is available in a wide range of sizes, including several square formats.
The mat
The mat adds a classic, understated aesthetic touch that enhances your image. It also plays a protective role by preventing any direct contact between your print and the frame’s glass.
Our mats are entirely made in-house: they are produced to our specifications by our partner framing workshop. Made from thick, acid-free white cardboard, they ensure your print is preserved over time.
A window is cut into the mat to reveal your image; this is the ‘image window’. Its inner edges are slightly bevelled for an even more refined and elegant finish.
Custom-made mat
Would you like to fully customise the presentation of your image?
On the settings page, select ‘Image format’, then choose ‘Custom mat’.
A new “Mat” tab will then appear, where you can freely enter the dimensions of the rotating edges. The image window is then calculated automatically and the result is displayed in real time on the screen. You can also fine-tune the cropping of your photo via the “Cropping” tab.
If you prefer not to use a mat, your image will be displayed in full format, occupying the entire surface of the frame.
Standard sizes and custom sizes
To offer you the best value for money, our standard sizes are available in fixed dimensions corresponding to the most common aspect ratios in photography (width-to-height ratio). For any custom dimensions, choose the “Custom Mat” option.

Important: if your image has a different aspect ratio to the three standard options available, it will automatically be cropped and centred to the closest available ratio.
You can preview this cropping on screen whilst placing your order, or prepare your image accordingly beforehand.
If you are not happy with the cropping, please specify your custom dimensions by selecting "Custom Mat."
