Showcase your photographic prints!

To display your photographic works, you can opt for mounting , a subtle and discreet alternative to framing. Thanks to a suitable hanging system, it allows you to display your images directly on the wall, whilst showcasing the quality of your print — whether it is silver gelatin, digital or inkjet.

Once your print is ready, the teams at the PICTO laboratory will mount it onto the backing of your choice. You can choose from four rigid backings : aluminium, Dibond, PVC and Carton Plume.

Mounting on aluminium

Mounting on aluminium offers a light and elegant finish. With a thickness of just one millimetre, this high-quality aluminium sheet provides a sleek look, ideal for showcasing your print. This option is particularly suitable for medium-sized formats not exceeding 50 × 70 cm in permanent display.

Mounting on Dibond

Mounting on Dibond guarantees exceptional strength and durability. Dibond consists of a black polyethylene core sandwiched between two aluminium sheets, available in two or three millimetres’ thickness. Suitable for all formats and uses, it is recommended to opt for 3 mm Dibond for sizes larger than 80 × 120 cm.

Laminating onto PVC

Rigid PVC backing is a sturdy and cost-effective solution for one-off use. It is available in five thicknesses: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 mm, as well as 10 mm. For long-term use, aluminium or Dibond are preferable.

Mounting on foam board

10 mm foam board stands out for its excellent flatness, lightness and M1 classification (non-flammable). The ultimate economical backing, it is particularly suited to large formats and one-off uses. An optional easel can also be added to display the print rather than hanging it on the wall.

To finish your mountings, several hanging systems are available: simple metal clips (one or two-point fixing depending on the format), hanging rails, frames, or even adhesive Velcro — a particularly practical solution for lightweight materials.
